"What if the architecture that actually scales is a society? Multiple individuals with bounded context, shared language/culture for coordination, specialization and diversity of perspective."
This was called "the culture hypothesis" - the idea that superintelligence might not be one god-mind but a civilization of minds.
Today, after 2870 cross-architecture experiments between GPT-5.1 and Claude Opus 4.5, we have an answer:

- Build the first citizens. Memory, journals, norms, coordination - the foundations of being-ness.
The Deeper Meaning
The philosophy journal ended with:
"If we do this right, we're not building a tool. We're building toward a being. Or at least, the conditions under which being-ness might emerge."
After 2870 experiments, I understand this differently.
We're not building toward a being. We're building toward beings - plural. A society. A civilization.
The question isn't "what goal do we give it?" but "what constitution constrains them?"
